Artwork Design – Fabric Preparation – Reactive Printing- Towel Finishing.
Cotton printed beach towels are an ideal choice for a day at the beach, pool, lake, or wherever you plan to spend your day soaking up the sun. They are a perfect combination of comfort and style. Cotton printed beach towels are made from lightweight, absorbent, and quick-drying fabric that will help you dry off quickly. They come in a variety of vibrant and colorful designs, patterns, and prints that will add a unique touch to your beach ensemble. Cotton printed beach towels are a great way to express your unique personality, style, and character. But have you ever wondered how these towels are produced? In this post, we will explore the process of producing cotton printed beach towels.
Step 1: Designing
The first step in producing cotton printed beach towels is designing the artwork that will be printed on the towel. Designers create design sketches that are then converted into digital files. These files are used to create printing screen plates that will be used in the printing process.
Design document is the key to the sketch making. The design draft should be clear, exquisite, and high -resolution, and includes all patterns, text, color and details to be printed. The design draft should be vector format, such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, etc.
The design and document resolution should usually be 300 dpi (number per inches). This resolution can ensure that the details of the pattern are clear and colorful, and it can also ensure that there will be no blur or pixelization when printing.
The printing process for cotton printed beach towels involves a technique called silk screen reactive printing. Silk Screen imprinting is a great choice for beach towels. This technique uses a flat screen to apply ink onto the fabric. The ink is forced through the screen onto the fabric in the desired pattern. The process is repeated for each color in the design, with each color requiring a separate screen. It produces vibrant, long-lasting designs that won't fade or peel over time. It's also a cost-effective option for printing large quantities of towels, making it ideal for promotional or marketing purposes.
Step 2: Fabric Preparation
Before printing can begin, the fabric must be prepared. The fabric is typically made from 100% cotton. 100% Cotton is a natural organic fiber that can be degraded through a natural process of decomposition. When cotton fibers are exposed to the elements, they are eventually broken down by microorganisms and returned to the soil. The degradation process of cotton is more environmentally friendly and sustainable than that of synthetic fibers, which is why we chose it for production. In order to make it softer and stronger water absorption, we cut the front of the terry towel.Cutting velvet is a very important process in towel manufacturing. First, the fibers on the surface of the towel are cut off by the cutting machine, and then stretch the fiber through the machine to form a fluff, then washed to remove any impurities and then dried. The fabric is then cut to the desired size for the beach towel.. The soft and delicate sense of plush increases the water absorption and comfort of the towel. In addition, the colors of the towel surface are more vivid and bright, and the beauty is greatly improved.
Yarns need to pass quality and strength tests and finally be selected to be of high quality, with good water absorption, durability and color retention. And the cotton weave has to be tight and even enough so that the design comes out clearer during the printing process and doesn't seep or fade over time.
The higher the density of the towel, it means the more fibers in the plush, the better the water absorption and softness. When making towels, it is common to use the number of yarns or fibers per square inch (or per square centimeter) to represent density. Towel density in 280 ~ 600GSM, the most popular of which is 400GSM.
In order to produce high quality beach towels that are more durable, the ring spinning is special for production of high strength and toughness yarns. By bending the ring ingot, the fiber in the yarn will be intertwined more closely and stronger stability. During spinning process, the yarn does not have a breakage and section, and accurately control the tension and speed. As a result, the appearance and feel of the beach towel produced are great.
Step 3: Printing
Once the fabric is prepared and the printing plates are created, the printing process can begin. The fabric is fed through a flat screen printing machine, which applies the ink in the desired pattern. press ink through a stencil (called screen) onto the surface of the towel. The design is created by blocking out areas of the screen with a photo emulsion, and then applying dyes to the exposed areas of the screen to transfer the design onto the towel. The machine repeats the process for each color in the design, with each color requiring a separate screen. The fabric is then cured in a high-temperature dryer to set the ink.
During the printing process , to avoid the ink spreads outside of the intended print area, the screens properly tensioned and aligned before printing. Additionally, strictly control the right amount of dyes and magnetic bar pressure, it will avoid over-flooding the screens.
The molecules in dark dyes are unstable, especially black dyes, and these molecules will gradually decompose or lose color under the influence of environmental factors, causing the material to fade. So high-quality dyes are used in the production process to enhance the color fastness of the fabric (AZO FREE). Before printing, the fabric is pretreated to remove impurities and enhance the permeability of the dye. After the towel printing is completed, put into the 150 degree curing machine for 3 minutes of high temperature and high pressure, so that the dyes and the towel fibers are firmly bonded and permeated.
CMYK printing is popular for silk screen printing beach towel. The four colors are cyan (C), magenta (M), yellow (Y), and black (K). By varying the percentages of each color, a wide range of colors can be created.
Step 4: Finishing
Once the fabric has been printed and dried, it is ready for finishing. This process involves cutting the fabric to the desired size and shape for the beach towel. The edges are then hemmed to prevent fraying, label sewing. The finished beach towels are then inspected for quality control before being packaged and shipped to retailers. In the packaging process, fully biodegradable PBAT+PLA packaging bags is trend, the size can be customized, environmental protection and pollution-free, soft texture, good tensile performance.
In conclusion, the production process for cotton printed beach towels involves several steps, including designing, fabric preparation, printing, and finishing. By using flat screen printing and high-quality fabrics, manufacturers are able to create beach towels that are both fashionable and functional. So next time you’re at the beach, take a moment to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into creating your cotton printed beach towel!
